This is our weekly “newspaper”, and as such is reserved for short, timely content. Brevity is the rule. Send your information to email@example.com, with “FLASH” in the subject line, and our editors will dress it up and place it.
The deadline for submitting items to FLASH is 4:00 PM each Thursday.
A special purpose vehicle to notify church members of urgent matters that can’t wait for the next FLASH. Changes in dates, last-minute events (e.g. funerals), safety and security announcements, facility closures, etc.
If your message is consistent with these guidelines, submit it to firstname.lastname@example.org, with “Mini-FLASH” in the subject line. We can usually get it out the same day.
This is our monthly online “magazine”, issued the first of the each month (less often in summer). It is the ideal vehicle for longer-form content, and for publicizing church events that happen on an annual basis—we have so many! If you have a lot to say, or want to provide detail about past or upcoming events, this is the place to do it. Content (especially photos) is always welcome.
In order to submit material for Parish Columns, just send it to our editor at email@example.com. The deadline for Parish Columns is the 20th of the month before publication.
Once you’re a member of our Facebook “group”, you can post items of interest (including links and photos from church events), and everyone will receive it in their newsfeed. It’s a great way to showcase recent happenings with photos to drive interest in your activities, or to remind people of upcoming events. Or just to share good news.
The church has a Twitter account, @UCCDarien. Please sign up to “follow” it, and if you have any short announcements, or a link to something more substantive, send to the Church Administrator, Dennis Hanlon, at firstname.lastname@example.org. He will Tweet it for you.
We are always looking for good-quality photos of church happenings and events. If you would like to submit photos, just email them to the webmaster. We will find an appropriate place for your pictures.
