Youth Group

The First Congregational Church Youth Group offers a place where kids can have fun, be real, and feel free to talk about what’s really on their minds - all with the aim of getting closer to one another and to God.

All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to attend any and all events.  Events include community service projects such as cooking and serving dinner at local homeless shelters; going to area after school youth programs and volunteering to do crafts and games with underprivileged children; participating in a Christmas toy drive; and visiting seniors in nursing homes.  In addition, the Youth Group goes on Mission Trips throughout the year.  Past groups have travelled to and worked in Honduras, Louisiana, rural Virginia, and New York City.

In addition to service opportunities and fundraising events such as babysitting night and the car wash, the Youth Group offers silly, sloppy fun!  Activities being planned include: building friendships while tackling the Wilton YMCA ropes course; enjoying the change of seasons with a hayride and pumpkin picking at Silverman’s Farm; setting homework aside in favor of crash-helmet bowling, and so much more.  In addition, a series of youth concerts - managed and performed by youth are being planned.
