Good Things Are Happening
[/vc_message][vc_single_image image=”9108″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
Yes, it’s true: GOOD THINGS ARE HAPPENING HERE IN FCC!
Right now, as I am typing, Mrs. G is Zooming the children of our FCC community and teaching them how to create a cross out of Palms. Creativity is often forged through difficult times.
In the spirit of good things, I am going to list in no particular order a number of positive happenings taking place within our FCC community.
Mrs. G and I have both been accepted to Yale Divinity School in order to pursue our remaining education requirements for Ordination! We feel so blessed and very excited to venture through this door in our life. Should all things go well, we will be ordained sooner than we think!
It has been such a joy to hear families share how they are creating memories during this time of uncertainty. I am happily told that, although it is hard to be away from school, families are so glad to be able to spend this time together.
The Care Circle has been calling every member within our church to check-in, ask how people are doing, and to ascertain what is needed. It’s amazing that our members are stepping forward to exist in solidarity with the members of FCC and to commit to this huge undertaking. If you have not been contacted, please let us know!
The Board of Deacons is working diligently (A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO NANCY SHEED) to continually offer services via live stream. Their dedication to this central aspect of FCC is inspiring to witness.
Likewise, many people are hard at work behind the scenes to figure out Zoom and to make sure the technical part of our services run smoothly.
What are your Good Things? SEND THEM OUR WAY!

PRAYERS
- For our elderly and our ailing.
- For those who are alone.
- For the hospitals and doctors around the world.

Random Weekly Thoughts
- Pigeons probably think we’re extinct.
- Dogs have probably never been happier.
- I bet we’re all getting really good at cooking or spending too much on take-out.

Poem – Pandemic
[/vc_message][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”9100″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” link=”https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpotjVqWv3KfGHjWztjPKgg”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
“Pandemic”
What if you thought of it
as the Jews consider the Sabbath—
the most sacred of times?
Cease from travel.
Cease from buying and selling.
Give up, just for now,
on trying to make the world
different than it is.
Sing. Pray. Touch only those
to whom you commit your life.
Center down.
And when your body has become still,
reach out with your heart.
Know that we are connected
in ways that are terrifying and beautiful.
(You could hardly deny it now.)
Know that our lives
are in one another’s hands.
(Surely, that has come clear.)
Do not reach out your hands.
Reach out your heart.
Reach out your words.
Reach out all the tendrils
of compassion that move, invisibly,
where we cannot touch.
Promise this world your love–
for better or for worse
in sickness and in health,
so long as we all shall live.
