I know that that I am made of dust, I breathe in.
Aware of my body, wonderfully and fearfully made by God, I breathe out.
2. Aware of life from God in my body, I breathe in.
Aware that God gives the breath of life, I breathe out.
3. Aware of the presence of God, I breathe in.
Aware of God’s peace, I breathe out.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_zigzag color=”peacoc”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
God Sightings
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”9663″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
If you are comfortable, light a real candle and pass it carefully around from child to child as they share their God Sightings.
[SAY]: It’s time for God Sightings! We have been doing God Sightings in Church School for three years now. Let’s keep our tradition going! Remember, a God Sighting is a place, person, item, thought, event, or action that you saw or did that reminded you of God’s love. The candle represents the fact that GOD lights up the world with these special gifts: our God Sightings. Make sure your God Sighting includes God’s Love! [Start by sharing your God Sighting and allow others to share]

Word of the Month

Faithfulness
Faithfulness is love that is never forgotten.
Faithfulness is remembering.
Faithfulness is not making promises you can’t keep.
Faithfulness is God, promising to always love us.

Today’s Story!
This story is about Jesus’ ascension into heaven after he raised from the dead. Enjoy the story review (which you have probably seen before!) and the new part of the story at the end!

Post-Story Discussion
[SAY:] What does the video tell us is the way that we are forgiven of the wrong things we have done? [leave time to answer]
Do you know what the Holy Spirit is? [leave time to answer] The video says that the Holy Spirit is a helper. The Holy Spirit is like Jesus in our hearts, helping us to know the right things to do. Jesus said he is with us always, to the end of time. He is with us because of the Holy Spirit!
When we hear the word spirit, what do you think of? [leave time to answer] Some people think about ghosts and spirits as something scary, like what you might see on Halloween. God’s Holy Spirit is different. It does not make us afraid. Instead, it makes us confident in God. When we are talking about the Holy Spirit of God, we are talking about God being there for us, helping us to make right choices and to walk in Jesus’ footsteps.
The Holy Spirit is sometimes described like wind, or fire, breath of God, or even as a beautiful dove or bird rising into the air or coming to land on our shoulders.
What do you think the Holy Spirit is like?[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_zigzag color=”peacoc”][vc_empty_space][vc_custom_heading text=”The Holy Spirit: for Older Elementary” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]This video is quite detailed, but could be helpful for older elementary. It helps us understand the Holy Spirit as explained in the Bible.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/oNNZO9i1Gjc”][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_zigzag color=”peacoc”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
