Game Nights at Liberation House
One Friday each month, a group from the church gathers at Liberation House, an in-patient treatment center for men with substance use disorders. We enjoy dessert and play board and card games with the residents; it’s always a meaningful time of community-building across lines of difference.
Serving Meals at Pacific House
One night each month, members of the church prepare and serve dinner to the Pacific House emergency shelter in Stamford.

Volunteer With CIRI
Furthering our partnership with CIRI, we have a volunteer opportunity for those that want to help with the effort to re-settle Afghan refugees. About once a week, a family is moved into an apartment, and CIRI needs help on moving day. Volunteers will clean the apartments, arrange furniture, hang pictures and blinds, etc. There are positions for those that want to do heavy lifting, and positions for those that are looking for lighter work. Move-ins are generally Tuesday-Friday and in the New Haven and Bridgeport areas. Each week we will find out if there is a move and you can sign up at that time…..no need to commit on a regular basis. If you have any interest in helping out, contact K.C. Simon for more information.
Furniture Drive
Want to help Afghan refugees resettle in Fairfield County? FCC is working with the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants (CIRI) to collect furniture for new arrivals. Please email or call K.C. Simon and include photos of the items. We will keep an inventory list, and when CIRI has a need (which is almost weekly as they find new housing for families), we will contact you to arrange pickup from your home. We can even help with movers.
