We are launching a new and exciting initiative with our partners at CIRI (The Connecticut Institute for Refugees & Immigrants). Our church will collect all of the supplies needed to help furnish a small apartment that will house a refugee family, likely from Afghanistan. When the family’s relocation and housing are secured, members of our congregation will have the opportunity to set up the apartment and get it ready for one special family.
How can you help?
- Beginning April 14, there will be a table in Parish Hall after the 10am service where you can sign up to donate specific items for the family.
- If shopping isn’t your thing, you can scan the QR code below to make a monetary donation, choose ‘CIRI-Adopt an Apartment’ from the drop-down menu. Members of the Outreach board will use the funds to purchase the items needed.
Stay tuned! We will send out a call for volunteers to set up the apartment as soon as we find out the date & location. Reach out if you have any questions, or want to participate but can’t make it to the 10am service. Email kathleencsimon@gmail.com.
