Welcome to the First Congregational Church of Darien Members-Only Directory

Please be sure you are in the online directory and your info is up to date! This is our primary means of keeping in touch as a church community, and it is especially important while we have not been able to meet in the meetinghouse. Please note that this members-only directory is password-protected and you must have a user account to access the information.

We use this directory and the Breeze system to send out our weekly news and updates, as well as the online bulletin for the Order of Service each Sunday morning. Please let us know if you are not receiving these emails. The church office and the pastors also use it to contact members and volunteers by mail.

We will soon have a new Interim Minister and then a Settled Pastor, so this directory will be important for everyone to know who’s who. Don’t forget to add or update your photos. We want to see your smiling faces!

Using the FCC Breeze Directory

See below for simple instructions and explanations. If you have previously received a password and logged in, just click on the button above to access the directory. If you have never logged in, contact Church Administrator Dennis Hanlon for a new user account. You may also contact Communications for help.

You can use this directory to contact our church members and staff. The church also uses this information to send out news and updates and keep track of members, volunteers, boards, and event attendees, so it is really important that your listing is up-to-date.

How do I log in?

If you have previously received a password and logged in, just click on the button above to access the directory.

If you have not logged in or need help with your username or password, please contact Church Administrator Dennis Hanlon.

How do I edit my profile?

Once you have logged in, it is simple to edit your profile. Just click “My Profile” in the top menu, and then click on the gray header bar for any profile section (Main, Contact, Family, etc.) to edit the section. You can edit your name, address, email, and other contact info and details.

How do I add a picture?

Just click on the image to the left of your name, and you can upload any photo from your computer or phone. You can use a headshot, or crop your photo from a family picture, vacation picture, or anything you have handy. We want to see your smiling face so everyone knows who you are! If you need help, contact Communications.

Our last printed directory is several years old, and not everyone has a copy. Please add your photo here to help everyone connect with one another, and help the new ministers see who’s who!

Why do I need to add my email address?

Please check and update your email address! This is how we reach you with important news and updates. Does each member of your family or household have their own email address? Please update them all, ask each individual to log in and do so, or send an email to Dennis with a request.

If you have not been getting our correspondence, newsletters and Sunday Service bulletins, we will need to be sure you are on these lists.

Tip: please check and make sure the emails are not going into your spam folder!

What emails and newsletters do you send each week?

Please let us know if you are not getting these weekly emails and wish to!

FCC Flash – News about the upcoming Sunday service and other meetings and events, and a message from the pastor who will be preaching on Sunday.

Today’s Service – Every Sunday morning, we send the Order of Service / Bulletin with info on the sermon, readings, songs, and special announcements.

A Light Shines in the Darkness – Introduced when we first stopped meeting in person in our meetinghouse, this newsletter contains updates on our church community, highlights of each Sunday’s service and a link to the video of the livestream each week, ways to keep in touch, and some good news and inspiration from the wider world.

Can I unsubscribe?

We don’t want to send you emails that you don’t wish to receive. But we do want to keep in touch with you!

Please help us manage your email preferences by sending a note to FCC Communications, instead of just clicking unsubscribe. That way we can help make sure that you get the important items and take you off the list for things you don’t want to receive.

What if I move away?

First of all, we will miss you, and we wish you well in your new home and community. We hope you will come visit us when you are in town, and we welcome you to join our livestreamed services whenever you wish.

You are welcome to keep your newsletter subscriptions and receive member emails as long as you are a part of our church community. Please update your contact information as needed.

If you want to be taken off of the mailing lists or officially change your membership status, please contact the church administrator or the Board of Deacons.

What if I change church membership?

Please be sure to notify us if you change church membership.

You are welcome to keep some newsletter subscriptions if you want to keep in touch. Please update your contact information as needed.

If you want to be taken off of the mailing lists or officially change your membership status, please contact the church administrator or the Board of Deacons.

How do I make an online gift to the church?

Online giving uses a separate part of our Breeze system. You can make a gift here, or by clicking on the Give Now button on the bottom of each website page.

All giving is confidential, and users of the online directory are not able to access this information.

How can I become a member?

We welcome new members at any time. Please contact our Church Administrator if you would like to find out about joining the church, and one of our Pastors or Deacons will be in touch with you.

In the meantime, please feel free to visit our church when services are offered in-person, or to livestream our Sunday services. Information is on the homepage and our Facebook page.
