Rev. Dean Lindsey reflects on the Baptism of Jesus as a moment of revelation—when God names Jesus as beloved and claims him publicly.
Baptism, the sermon reminds us, is not only a celebration but a lifelong calling: to remember who we are, whose we are, and how we are meant to live.
To live into our baptismal identity is both grounding and challenging. It calls us to turn away from what diminishes life and to stand with the vulnerable, seek truth, and act with compassion—even when doing so is costly or misunderstood. In remembering our baptism, we are reminded that we are beloved children of God, and that this promise extends to all people, calling us to live with courage, mercy, and love.
