So many of us long to experience Advent as a deep time, a time for beauty and for wonder — and yet we feel a strong pull toward empty busyness and bustle. Give yourself the great gift of time to bask in the holiness of this season. Join us for short, simple, meditative Advent Vespers Services at 5pm on Sundays, starting November 30 and running through December 21. We will celebrate communion each week and share together in a time of prayer, but there will be no sermon. Instead, each service will center a unique theme:
November 30
Members of the church reflecting on what is sacred for them in the Christmas season
December 7
A tender “Blue Christmas” service for those who are not experiencing this as the most wonderful time of the year
December 14
A family service, with popcorn and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” as a sermon
December 21
Musical guests performing Benjamin Britten’s “Ceremony of Carols”
